The Choice-Point Month
A 28-day workbook for using your phone on purpose. Not less screen time. More of your own choices.
One small experiment a day, ending in a Keep Three card: the three practices you choose to stay with. No app, no subscription, no streaks, no minute-counting.

The plain facts
- 28 days
- One small experiment a day, on paper. Skip whatever doesn't fit your life.
- No app
- It's a PDF. Print it, or write in it on a tablet.
- No subscription
- A one-off payment of £15 is the plan, and nothing after that.
- No streaks
- Miss a day and its box stays empty. Don't catch up, don't start again. Just do today.
- No minute-counting
- You never add up your screen time or work towards a daily total. A few days do use the clock: one has you compare a guess with what the clock says, and some ask you to decide how long a use will last.
- It ends with a Keep Three card
- On Day 28 you choose the three practices you'll keep and write them on a card to cut out.
- You score yourself before and after
- Three statements, each out of 10, before Day 1 and again after Day 28. They are your own self-reported scores, not a measurement, and the number may not move. If it doesn't, that tells you something too.
I'm Chernyang Lee, a mathematician and former software engineer, and I wrote it. I don't have results from other people yet, so this page doesn't promise any.
What's inside
- A letter, and the honest theory
- Why minutes were never the point, what the research does and doesn't say, and what this workbook isn't.
- Your starting point
- Three quick self-scores, scored again after Day 28, so you can see whether anything actually moved.
- 28 days, one page each
- Notice, then choose before you start, then choose where you stop, then bring someone in. Most days have a smaller version for awkward days.
- When you miss a day
- Don't catch up. Don't start again. Just do today.
- Five extras
- A seven-day quickstart, declaration cards, a fridge card, openers for a shared phone-free moment, and a notification audit.
56 A5 pages. Print it, or write in it on a tablet.

Why it isn't on sale yet
The workbook is written. What I don't know yet is whether enough people want it to make it worth selling properly. So before I set up a shop, I'm asking. If you'd like it, leave your email below. I'll write to you once, when it's ready, and that's all.
I plan to price it at £15, a one-off payment with no subscription. Not sure yet? The free phone check-in takes about four minutes and shows where you're choosing already.
